Auto Raja Movie is a 2013 Indian Kannada-language romantic drama film written and directed by Uday Prakash that stars Ganesh, Bhama and Deepika Kamaiah within the lead roles. The title is inspired by the popular Kannada film of a similar title name released in 1980 starring Shankar Nag and Gayatri within the lead roles. The film is made together by Vishwa and Girish of V San Visions and also the music is scored by Arjun Janya.

Director Uday Prakash, who earlier directed the comic-caper, Kalla Malla Sulla came up with a thought to pay tributes to the late legendary actor Shankar Nag who featured within the blockbuster hit auto Raja within the year 1980. With a similar title name, he modified the script suitable for this decade. The script was written in 2010 and he was on a research for lead actors appropriate to reprise the role of Nag. He took nearly one and 0.5 years to seek out a bachelor hero through an electoral system.

Uday Prakash came up with a novel plan of finding his lead actor by making an online poll. It resulted in actor Ajay Rao being the unanimous selection and he was signed on for a similar. However, the project got a lot of delayed in starting and also the actor refused the role owing to date problems. This resulted in additional delay as Prakash went in search of the many different younger heroes with no one willing to accept the role. Later, actor Ganesh was approached and it took a minimum of twenty days to convert him to sign up for the role. Malayalam actress Bhama was roped in soon for the lead heroine. For the opposite heroine, director approached Chaitra Chandranath, a budding actress, who reportedly walked out owing to clash of dates and contract signed for one more production. Another young histrion, Deepika Kamaiah replaced Chaitra and confirmed her dates for the second lead role.

After a delay of nearly two years of pre-production and casting, the film was formally launched on August 22, 2012 at the Milk Colony playground in Malleshwaram, Bangalore. The launch was attended by actor Sudeep to light the lamp and flag off the film that was featured by Ganesh ahead of an auto rickshaw. The cinematography was shot at a stretch for fifty days in Bangalore location.
