It seems that Kumar has been inspired by kannada movie Dandupalya, that depicts a bunch of people who kill girls for gain. Though technically the director has done a reasonably good job by not light the violent bits, there is nothing that stands out in the movie. Whereas the first half has its share of spirited moments despite some brutal scenes, the half rambles somewhat.

Umesh (Jitendra Simon), a serial killer, is in jail. 2 students from a yankee university, Sapna (Viola Mathew) and Samantha (Neelopher), land within the town to do analysis on serial killers. Samantha begins to indicate interest in Umesh and he winds up falling taken with her. This is one a part of the story. The second part has the felon escaping from jail and killing a girl. The 2 students are given further security by DCP Nagaraj (Joe Simon). However, Umesh manages to nobble Samantha from the police guest house and take her into a forest. Meanwhile, cops launch a hunt for him. To know what happens next, you will have to attend for the sequel, Umesh 2.

Jitendra Simon steals the show with his portrayal of Umesh. His scores high on expressions, body language and dialogue delivery. Viola Mathew and Neelopher have done justice to their roles. Joe Simon is poised as a police officer.
