Director Trishul has woven a story around the character who
is a sex worker, played by Veena. The story is about a young girl born in a
poor family forced to become a sex worker. Though she tries to come out of it,
society doesn't allow her to do so. Though the story can be described as old
wine in new bottle, there is freshness in narration and script with good
sequences. But the director could have done a better job in the latter part of
the second half (before the climax) with sequences which are unnecessarily
stretched.

Director Trishul has left no stone unturned to take best out
of the actress. Be it her acting or skin show, the director has made her to
give her best to whatever she has done in the movie. The film is about a
village bella named Vijaya Lakshmi, who becomes Silk. A man promises to make
her an actress, but pushes her to prostitution. Ammani (Sana) runs a brothel
and she rechristens Vijaya as Silk. On the other end, situation makes Shiva
(Akshay) take up wrong ways for survival.
