Shikari Movie is
a 2012 Indian bilingual film in Kannada and Malayalam. The film is written and
directed by Abhaya Simha. It stars Mammootty and Poonam Bajwa within the lead,
with Aditya, Mohan and Innocent doing alternative major roles. The film is that
the Kannada debut of Megastar Mammootty, and also the Malayalam debut of
director Abhay Simha and musician V. Harikrishna. Each Mammooty and Poonam
Bajwa play double roles, set in 2 totally different timelines. The picture was
opened to negative responses from the Malayalam version however it got superb
positive reviews from Kannada version.
The Shikari Movie story
revolves round the lifetime of a software engineer, who stumbles upon a unique
known as Shikari. He begins to browse it and falls gaga with a personality from
the book, that is ready within the pre-Independence era. The story unfolds in 2
time-lines and each the actors play 2 characters every.
The title role of the film is vied by Mammootty. Regarding
his casting, he says: "I was drawn to the current project by the
director's (Abhay Simha) vision to form this idea believable". Mammootty
plays a code professional who chances upon a manuscript of an unfinished novel
and falls gaga with a personality. Poonam Bajwa has been signed in to play the
heroine. She’s going to be playing the love interest of character vies by
Mammootty. Sharmila Mandre was also approached to do this role. Aditya, who
thinks operating with Mammootty is an honor, says regarding his role: ““I play
a dream-seller and my character is needed to look within the movie on and
off".
Kannada Version
G S Kumar of Times of India gave the picture (4/5) and
aforesaid that “This isn't a picture for those who exclusively enjoy the dishum
dishum or running-around-the-tree sequences. It's for picture lovers who get
pleasure from a mixture of romance, satire, revolutionary concepts and struggle
for freedom that has been excellently dead by director Abhaya Simha."
India glitz gave the picture (4/5) and commented that "Shikari may be a
terribly tight film. It’s a replacement expertise for the viewers."
Malayalam Version
Times of India rated the film (1.5/5) and aforesaid that
"Shikari is aware the proverbial grandma tales, one dependent on the
viewers' suspension of disbelief and the storyteller's talent. Within the
event, the movie fails to stay its readers hypnotized."
