Manjunath Maskal Matti's new film has strong reminder Cheran-starrer Tamil film 'Raman Thediya Seethai'. However despite a convincing plot, 'Gowri Putra' fails to form an impression. As a result of poor production values, even the emotional scenes taken from the initial film, do not create any impression. Ganesh could be a smart human being, who takes care of individuals in need.

He is eager to get married, however his attempts fail as he desires to stay truthful and needs to give his full details, either negative or positive. Once continuous rejections, Ganesa comes across a woman named Vidya, who agrees to marry him. However on the day before wedding, Vidya elopes to induce married to her swain.

An unhappy Ganesh takes the blame on himself and walks out of the wedding hall. However Divya's father, who feels humiliated, takes on the encumbrance to induce Ganesh married to an honest woman. Ganesh's dejection gets born-again into confidence once he meets Shekhar Nag, a physically challenged person facing adversities with spirit. Ganesh goes to Hiriyur to envision a woman beside Divya's father. There, he meets a woman who had earlier rejected him. Thereafter follows the climax.

 Akshay has done a good job within the role of Ganesh, however it's Nagashekhar, who scores within the role of Shekhar Nag. The film also scores in its technical values. Ramesh Bhat, Sihi Kahi Geetha has done justice to their roles perfectly. With 2 melodious tunes composed by Milind Dharmasena and neat picturisations, the film comes alive from its dragging narration. 'Gowri Putra' is a median affair. Although it's a family-oriented story, it's been bestowed badly.
