A good movie needs a decent script and also the director ought to be able to provide life to the script with a lively narration. However director Saikrishna Kudla doesn't impress you either with the script or the narration. Chella Pilli could be a chaotic movie that neither conveys a message nor entertains you. Except for Vijaya Raghavendra, who needs to some extent taken the responsibility of carrying the story forward with smart performance, others look silly with their performance.

The story revolves around Hemanth (Vijaya Raghavendra) who busts a drug mafia. The case is about once drug lord Anwar asks Pachhu to handover some medicine to someone. They hide the drug in a very doll. However the doll goes missing. How will Hemanth bust the drug mafia? We even have a romantic track with Hemanth and Diya (Aishwarya Nag) falling loving with one another that lacks seriousness. It’d are higher if the movie was cut by half an hour.

Aishwarya Nag has done a decent job with her expressions. Shobhraj sounds like a joker in his roel as a lawman. Former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda seems in a very scene wherever he opens a mall and offers a speech. Cinematography by pc Ravee is okay. Music by Mikku Kavil isn't ok to retain the tunes in memory.
